LIVE STREAM: Real Monarchs look to stay unbeaten vs. Sacramento Republic

July 1st, 2015 | by Sean Walker

Real Monarchs SLC have lost three-straight road games in the month of June.

So Wednesday evening’s match at 5 p.m. MT is a welcome return home to Rio Tinto Stadium for the third-division affiliate of Real Salt Lake.

It’s also a chance for the Monarchs to remain unbeaten against an opponent, something it can’t say about many other teams.

The Monarchs are 1-0-1 against defending USL champs Sacramento Republic FC, and they’ll look to build off the three points earned against the title holders on April 29. Real Monarchs also earned a draw on the road when the two teams played at Bonney Field, but the Republic have gone 3-1-1 since they last saw the Monarchs to vault into second place in the USL’s Western Conference.

Wednesday’s meeting, then, will be about more than the doubleheader with RSL’s U.S. Open Cup match against Portland Timbers FC at 8 p.m. MT.

If you can’t make it to Sandy, watch the live stream set up by Real Monarchs (embedded above), or on the Monarchs’ YouTube channel. Check back here after the match for a full recap, as well as photos from the first Monarchs home match in nearly a month.
