BYU opens home PDL slate Friday night

June 5th, 2015 | by Sean Walker

With a brand-new roster that includes only four returning starters from last year’s Premier Development League playoff-caliber team, coach Chris Watkins and BYU soccer returns to South Field for its first of six-straight home matches Friday night.

The Cougars (0-2-1) will kick off against Real Colorado at 7:30 MT at South Field in the second of four regular-season matches against the Foxes. BYU lost, 2-0 to Colorado on May 8 during a weekend that saw another game postponed until the end of the season because of a swift mid-spring snowstorm. Daniel Arrubla and Andrew Mejia each scored a first-half goal for the Foxes in their win.

BYU will also host Colorado on Saturday, June 6 at 7:30 p.m. at South Field before playing Las Vegas, Albuquerque and FC Tucson at home before finishing June with a pair of road games at Las Vegas.

You can watch the game live via the embedded YouTube stream on, or the BYU men’s soccer YouTube channel.

If PDL soccer isn’t your thing, there’s another reason to visit South Field on Friday night: Utah County’s food truck roundup.
